I am going to begin to post videos and handouts to help with reviewing and preparing the Gov Exam. I know many of you have been checking or looking at College Board and have seen all the information out there. I have been working with teachers across the nation in a Gov teacher group I am part of and we have all been doing a lot of prep work and sharing to get everyone ready. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take the time and put in the effort to watch these videos, complete the handouts, use the templates..do all necessary to help bring you the most success on May 11th. College Board will also have information posted, practice runs of the exam, etc. I will post and send out reminders and you WILL WANT to watch and do these to help with exam day as well.
There are practice FRQs already released by CB on your AP Classroom. Along with the information I give you and what CB releases and shares will be enough for you to prepare for the exam. YOU GOT THIS!!!

NEW INFORMATION 4/22/20
Here is some information from College Board. Some of this may be a repeat but wanted to share all information passed down to me. The most important part is to check your email with CB. You should be getting emails about updates, information from them. IF you are NOT, you need to check your email because it will impact your exam. You will not get the information to practice procedures or your "ticket" to take the exam on May 11th. Please read the following

Here are the first 2 videos. These 2 teachers have a lot videos out there and some of you seen them before. We even used Heimler's History in class for the original FRQ 4. Both videos help introduce and discuss the changes on the Corona Exam.

Click below to view the content that is going to be the Corona exam. The chart gives topic, essential knowledge, the chapter and section of our textbook and what required doc or Supreme Court case goes with it. This could help with what chapters of the textbook to focus on and what notes to gather and begin reviewing as well.
UNITS 1-3 REVIEW
1st here are some review packets over Units 1-3. The 2 FRQs for the exam are only going to come from these 3 units. These are long and are going to take some time to complete, but look over them use them how you want. Remember the exam is open note, but very limited on time. Best to review over and over and then have the notes open on the side. Don't rely totally on using notes to write the FRQs, you won't have enough time.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS
Here are some handouts and videos to help with the Required Documents. These are going to deal with the argumentative FRQ, FRQ#4. Again, I would review all the Docs, fill in the notes/charts, etc and use all that the day of the exam. BUT remember your time is cut way short for these so you MUST have a good understanding of them. PLEASE DONT just rely on your notes the day of the exam, if you do, you will probably run out of time.

REQUIRED Supreme Court Cases
Here is a handout and videos to help with the Supreme Court cases. Not sure where is could fall in the exam but need to review since it is under Unit 3. FRQs 2020
Here are rubrics, templates, outlines that will help with FRQ 4. The argumentative format and scoring has changed due to time restrictions. Look over and see what you think would benefit you day of exam. I thought it would be useful to give you the scoring rubric so you will know how you will be scored and what they are looking for.
Below all this will there will be power point and a video that will help explain and "how to" for this FRQ

The power point goes along with the video. Stop/pause whatever to help with the new argumentative essay.

The second FRQ will be the Concept FRQ(#1). This will be exactly like they ones we practiced in class, there is NO changes to this FRQ. Look at and review to the following to help prepare for this essay. This essay will be heavy on Unit 2 Interactions Between the Branches.
This first one is the "workshop" that I gave out and help give tips, steps, ways to prepare for the essay.
Here is another "how to" video, giving an example of this type of essay with do's and don'ts .

Here is a video wanted to share from college admission leaders for those taking the AP exam.
I know I have given you review stuff but here are a few power points that may help. Not only do you need to be familiar with the 2 FRQs and the content of the 3 units, but you need to be organized with your notes, charts, handouts, whatever you think you may use. Time is going to be a huge factor and flipping through trying to find something is going to cost you time. DO NOT rely totally on your notes to help you write the essays. Practice the ones released on AP Classroom get familiar with them and the rubric that was posted above. I will also post sample ones on here as well.
Here is a great exercise for the argumentative essay. 4 topics(prompts) given, choose 2 docs and 1 SCOTUS case to develop your evidence to support your claim(line of reasoning) and connects to the prompt. Obviously, have no idea what the prompts are going to be, but still a good exercise. Not about writing an essay, this is more of a way to strengthen your knowledge of Docs and Cases to use them as evidence to support your claim. Email if we have questions, etc
Here is a video that wanted to make you guys to help with all the behind the scenes stuff for EXAM DAY. Be sure to keep checking your email and your AP classroom for information and details about the exam. I will continue to post stuff that I think will help. Hopefully you will enjoy the video...:)
For those who don't....I will post the power point with no voice, but just think of all the funny jokes and stories you will miss. HAHA
Enjoy the video....Email me with any questions or concerns you have.

Below are a few things that College Board has shared with us for you guys to look at and review about the exam. The first one is a checklist that I mentioned in the video. You don't have to print and use but could be useful to help you organize and make sure you have everything ready for exam day.
The 2nd one is the total pdf guide (in power point format)they shared with us that I went over the highlights with on the video. You can go back and look at all 51 slides whenever you want. I just wanted to make it available to you, instead of just the video. Because I know some you (cough cough) don't like my amazing videos and wonderful words of wisdom. But it's all good. Watch, don't watch, but please review all these videos, handouts, etc that I am posting.

VERBS
There has been some teacher discussion about the scoring rubric, students answering the sections of the question and verbs. So thought would share another video about the verbs and 2 handouts that explain each verb you could possibly see in both FRQs. Print them off if you want, to use a reference in case you may be confused or want to make sure your response answering that section of FRQ. Hope this helps!

Another great video on the Argumentative FRQ for Monday. Both these guys are putting out some great videos to help explain the process and tips.
As I was scrolling through Twitter and checking AP pages, I came across some video that AP has put out with some helpful information about the exam. You may want to view these. Especially about the rules and shared documents. Hate to beat a dead horse and say this over and over, but PLEASE DON'T GET WITH OTHER STUDENTS, SHARE INFO, TALK ETC. THEY ARE TAKING CHEATING VERY SERIOUS. It is not worth it. Some of this may be a review from video I shared and/or you read from the Testing Guide 2020 CB put out. But again, great refresher.

Here is another summary handout. If you don't print off and use at least look it over. Even included some thoughts/tips on the FRQs
Here is a review video covering the study guide I emailed the link to and gone over in my video, but again trying to cover all of our bases.
